HLTAID014 Provide Advanced First Aid

Course Description

Previously known as Level 3, this 14 - 16 hour course provides participants with the knowledge & skills required to provide advanced first aid. The course covers CPR, and advanced first aid skills e.g. spinal injuries & more. Pre-course work to be completed prior to attending the course.

Course Content

As well as those topics in HLTAID003 Provide First Aid, we cover spinal injuries including the use of spinal boards, stretchers, cervical collars & head blocks, childbirth, more medical emergenices, safety & injury prevention, manual handling, communication, report writing.

Assessment Tasks

Demonstrate competent CPR on an adult and infant manikin; use of an AED; participate in 6 first aid scenarios; provide written and verbal communication about the scenario incidents; complete 40 multiple choice questions; complete 140 questions as pre-course work.

Certificate

Upon successful completion in the practical, scenario & written assessment tasks candidates will be issued a nationally accredited Statement of This qualification is recognized in both PNG and Australian workplaces.
