22578VIC Course in First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis
Course Description
This 3 hour course covers the skills and knowledge required to manage an anaphylactic emergency until medical help arrives and includes the administration of an Adrenaline auto-injector.
Course Content
Responding to an allergic reaction situation, providing first aid treatment for an anaphylactic reaction; communicating details of the incident; evaluating first aid response to an anaphyactic reaction; identifying those at risk of allergic reactions and anaphylaxis, developing individual anaphylaxis management plan; implement strategies to prevent allergic reactions, developing a comunication plan to raise awareness of allergic reactions and anaphylaxis.
Assessment Tasks
Demonstrate competent performance in using an Adrenaline auto-injector; participate in a first aid management scenario; complete an incident form, participate in a risk assessment and risk minimisation activity; complete 20 multiple choice questions.
Certificate
Upon successful completion in the practical, scenario & written assessment tasks candidates will be issued a nationally accredited.
This qualification is recognized in both PNG and Australia.
