Course Description

When hazards in the work environment cannot be 'engineered out' or when guards, shields and other safety devices have limited effectiveness, there will often be a need to wear personal protective equipment. In this program we are going to examine PPE by looking at the five major groups involved.

Course Content

As well as looking at the five major groups involved in PPE (eye and face protection, head protection, respiratory protection, hearing protection, and protective clothing), we will also discuss numerous other, often forgotten forms of PPE e.g. safety harnesses, oversleeves, barrier creams, sun screens and so on.

Assessment Tasks

An assessment task of 10 multiple choice questions and answers willl be discussed in class.

Certificate

Each candidate will receive a Certificate of Completion.
